What it is

Invoices the Tax Agency receives instantly and nobody can alter

VeriFactu requires invoicing software to store every invoice so that it can't be altered afterwards, and to send it to the Spanish Tax Agency the moment it is issued. Its aim is to prevent fraud and guarantee data integrity.

It is required by Law 18/2022 (Crea y Crece) and the regulation implementing Law 11/2021 (Anti-fraud).

What the law requires

Four things your software must do

  • Integrity and traceability

    Each invoice is chained to the previous one with its own fingerprint, so it can't be changed without leaving a trace.

  • Real-time submission

    Each invoice record reaches the Tax Agency the moment it's issued.

  • No changes after the fact

    An issued invoice is never edited: it's corrected with a credit note.

  • QR code on the invoice

    Every invoice carries a QR code your customer can use to check it on the Tax Agency website.
